You may be asking yourself a few questions if you're in here.

1) Hard Gay? What the fuck is that? Some kind of porn? Gay porn, no less?

You couldn't be more wrong, sir. Hard Gay is a Japanese comedian who is, to put it mildy, totally fucking sweet. He dresses himself up as though he were about to take part in a Gay Pride Parade, and hip thrusts his way about Japan, cooking food with vegetables that kids hate, making kids smile, and even helping out local store owners when they aren't doing too well. He does it, with a "HOOOO" shout, a hip thrust, and a smile.

2) So, he's a funny guy. Why the fuck do you have a forum for him?

Well, if you haven't noticed, the Hard Gay videos that are running about right now don't have subtitles. Not to mention the most widely released and viewed versions are really low quality. We see that, and it makes us cry, because Hard Gay deserves so much more than that. We've decided to sub as many of the Hard Gay videos as we can find high quality versions for. It's our duty, to Hard Gay!

Questions relating to the subtitles.


1) Why are you saying "hoo" and not "foo/fuu" ?
The 'fuuu' is always going to be an issue. However considering where the exclamation came from, (Ric Flair, an American Pro-Wrestler), we decided that it would be closer to romanized it as "hooo". Technically, if someone who didn't know any Japanese saw "hooo" spelled out, they would read it exactly like "fuuuu", only less heavy on the 'f' sound. We are trying to make the subtitles into something similar to English, not just have Japanese sounds in there. If there is a joke requiring us to use "foo" instead, we will.

2) "Say" is wrong. It's actually "sei" from "urusei".
Yes, we know it came from "urusei". However, 'say' also happens to be a decent colloquial expression in English that almost lines up with what he is saying. It's sort of an ebonics expression where people go, "say man", etc, to get someone's attention. While that's not exactly the same thing, it's a very good approximation. Hence, why we decided to use it, rather than having HG repeat something gay like, "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP".

3) Why do you guys act like such assholes when I tell you how it should be translated?
Does this even merit a response?

4) Can you guys send me your RAW files so my group can sub HG too?
No, as a matter of policy we don't give out our RAW files. They're readily available through various P2P programs, and if you don't know where they're available, then it is not our fault, nor our problem. We are assholes, we know.



Also, here's a list of sites that has taken the videos we released, with our subs, and put their own fun little watermarks on the videos. If at all possible please don't go to their site and if your friends do, ask them not to. Don't be fanatic about it, just know that they put watermarks on stuff that isn't their work.
