Well first week is over. Didn't get around to a first day review but hell I was busy. Was good and mildly humbling. It's healthy now and again to get a good sense of how much you still have to learn. My on the job training consisted of 3 engineers fighting over the design of a part and finally tossing me a print with hand scribbled dimensions and told to "make it" with no direction or material allotment. As a machinist coming form a standard shop where each segment of a part's machining is departmentalized and broken up into various steps, having to take it from raw bar stock to finished product was rather daunting. But hey you live and learn.

I had a friend who was a machinist. Got a DUI, we always laughed that the fact he had an actual well paying job is the only thing that saved him.
