So here's an interesting thing about fertility treatments.
Kim's doing these shots. She's gotta stick a needle in her belly every night for a couple weeks and then she's gotta go to the doctor every 3 days or so to get an ultrasound and see if any eggs are growing. She finally got one measuring at like, 10 mm. then a few days later it's one at 14 and another at 10. Then two at 17, plus one at 14.
Well this morning she measured one at 22, one at 19, another at 17, and a fourth one at 14.

The doctor says - okay now you take this other shot and it'll make an egg release. You should start making whoopy all the time now.

No problem and the doctor said that only the big one will release. Cool right?
Well Kim looked it up online and she found out that other doctors think that anything above 15 mm will release. We're like WTF? This is the same guy who once told her that he doesn't consider twins multiples.

Umm.......

So we're kinda thinking that he's got a 'throw a bunch of shit at the wall and see what sticks' kind of approach. I bet this guy is thinking something like 'possible twins, triplets unlikely' which is not exactly what we were looking for. Our aims are more like 'one. slim chance of two. non-existent chance of three'.


So we're going to trust and go ahead with his instructions but I'm hoping I don't come back with a twins announcement. Of course there's no guarantee that it'll work anyways but what can ya do? Keep trying that's all.

how long have you been trying? i thought doctors want you to try regularly a year before intervening

We've been at it for well over a year. Close to 2 years.

Another positive test - There's got to be a blood test and an ultrasound before I'm gonna be calling it. In the meanwhile - it's optimistic.
